Kevin Ahkimnachie is from Chateh, Dene Tha’ Nation. He speaks 2 dialects of Dene: Beaver (Tsaat’ine) and Deh cho (ka’gun t’u). Kevin is currently Director of Livelihood and Climate Change with Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta. He has been 10 yrs with Treaty 8 FNA this year and has served on the Dene Tha’ council for one term. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Native Studies and Political Science (University of Alberta), a Masters of Education (Gonzaga University – Spokane, Washington; and since January 2020 he has been pursuing a Masters of Science (University of Alberta). Kevin has been married to Donna for 10 years and they have a cat :). They love traveling.
